Vacuum Cupping or Myofascial Decompression can be useful in the treatment of chronic overuse injuries such as bursitis, tendinitis, tendinosis, and myofascial pain syndromes. It also may be effective with some post-surgical patients who develop soft tissue restrictions as a result of surgical trauma and bleeding causing adhesions within the body’s fascial system.
Vacuum Cupping or MFD Therapy assists with the following:
- Breaking up scar tissue build up
- Breaking up trigger points and adhesions
- Decreasing pain
- Improving performance
Vacuum cupping uses negative pressure to decompress adhesions, spots where the connective tissue is stuck, to allow a better flow for improved nutrient exchange. The pressure will cause an ischemic (low blood) response causing increased blood flow to the area to help with healing process.
